Heiress to the Hilton fortune, Paris recently got engaged on a snow white mountain top to her actor boyfriend of two years Chris Zylka with a diamond so big, the-bride-to-be confessed she had shivers at the sight of it.
According to celebrity jeweler Michael Greene who designed the now famous ring, the shape of the finger sized jewel was inspired by Paris’s mom’s wedding ring.
“Paris at one point in time told Chris she really loved her mother’s pear-shaped diamond, and when Chris came to me that was his request,” Greene told PEOPLE exclusively of the inspiration behind the design. “The pear-shaped really jumped out for him and ultimately for her. He did some fishing, but in the end it was all him. He’s a smart guy, and hangs out a lot with the family, and I think she realized how much she liked her mom’s ring.”
The diamond is set on a platinum split halo band surrounded by smaller diamonds and is valued at $2 million.
The ring was created in two days, it should have normally taken Green three weeks.
Paris had no input in the creation of the ring.
Speaking on her engagement Paris said: “I am so excited to be engaged to the love of my life and my best friend,” Hilton added. “I have never felt so happy, safe and loved. He is perfect for me in every way and showed me that fairytales really do exist!”
The feeling is definitely mutual.
“Paris is the most beautiful and incredible woman both inside and out,” Zylka shared with PEOPLE. “I feel like the luckiest man in the world to be marrying my dream girl. I can’t wait to spend the rest of our lives together.”
