Four people including two army officers have been remanded in Kuje prison on charges of theft of N339 million military pension funds.
Their remand was ordered by an Abuja high Court after the counsel for the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) brought it to the judge’s attention that some of the accused have previously refused to come to court.
The accused include; Ishaka Yakubu (wing commander), Akinbamidele Odunsi (lieutenant commander), Abidemi Aderemi Kolade and Violet Ofoegbunam.
The monies the suspects have been accused of stealing were funds meant for death benefits to deceased army officers.
The accused have entered a pleasant of Not Guilty and will be remanded in Kuje prison pending trial set for November 13.
